Together with Pau Sarrió, bell ringer of València Cathedral, Via Heraclia has helped revive the ancient Difunts bell ringing tradition , one of the oldest funeral bell-ringing traditions still preserved. Throughout the night, the bell ringer walks through the streets, ringing the bells, knocking on doors, and collecting donations. This unique guided tour takes place only once a year.

~ “MARGARITA’S DREAMS”: Did you know that Margarita de Lauria was a woman ahead of her time? Her father was a close advisor to King Pedro III “the Ceremonious” (Peter III), and she received a large inheritance. She wanted to use it to improve the lives of the villagers.

Do you think Margarita achieved her dreams?

~ “JAUME I, WHAT A STORY!”: Jaume I, the Christian king, chose El Puig as the place from which to reconquer València. From Enesa Castle, also known as Patà Castle, his army prepared for the battle against the Muslim king, Zayyan.

Who fought in the battle? Why did Jaume I choose this place? What did Enesa Castle look like?

Children and adults are welcome to come dressed in period costume.

~ EL TORREJÓN Archaeological Site (Gátova): Located in the Sierra Calderona Natural Park, El Torrejón was an Iberian settlement inhabited between the 6th and 2nd centuries BC. It was probably destroyed by fire and abandoned during the Second Punic War.

Archaeological excavations have uncovered its urban layout, including a remarkable rectangular tower and a unique funerary enclosure. Discover one of the treasures of the Iberian Route in the Valencian Community.

~ EL TÒS PELAT Archaeological Site (Moncada): Travel back to the Iberian period and explore El Tòs Pelat, one of the oldest settlements on the Iberian Route. Walk through the remains of its main street and two of its most important houses, and discover how the Iberians lived between the 6th and 4th centuries BC.

~ EL CARNOSO Archaeological Site (Andilla): Discover El Carnoso, an ancient Iberian cremation necropolis dating from the 5th and 4th centuries BC. It is one of the few known Iberian necropolises in the Valencian Community and features two different types of burials.

The archaeological site also includes a walled settlement and a unique rectangular building, making it an essential stop on the Iberian Route.
